SUNDANCER TROPICAL BLISS IN MOZAMBIQUE

23 - 30 June 2012

Inhambane and Tofo(Mozambique) are the sizzling hot jewels of Southern Africa where every passing tribe from Arab slave traders to Portuguese explorers has left its mark, leaving a melting pot of cultural splendor in its course. Today, after 13 years of peace in the country, it offers an exotic and untouched tropical paradise for South African holiday makers to come and explore…

Escape the winter chill and enjoy the tropical warm waters of Tofo at this time of the year and indulge in some of the activities we have on offer.

Stuart and Diana (Sundancer) will facilitate a drum circle so bring your drums and musical instruments and we will spin some fire under the stars at night. For those of you who would like to learn how, we will run a poi workshop. What is that, you may ask?

The history of poi goes far back to the past originating from the Maoris in New Zealand.  Poi is the name given to anything (e.g. balls) that you swing around on strings/ropes or chains.  It is wonderful for left/right brain co-ordination and helps ADD kids with focus & concentration (not to mention a huge boost to self-esteem).  It appeals to young and old and and is  a great way to exercise being very aerobic, improving muscle tone and strength whilst also being a graceful dance artform.

Here Diana and the kids are having fun with
colourful ribbon poi.

When you become accomplished in the moves with practice or ribbon poi, and if you feel daring and really fired up, you can go on to learn how to dance with fire
